Sources & methodology

Show the work. Keep the context.

A source should never be a footnote to trust. Review how the collection is built, what its labels mean and where the photographs come from.

Research is a release requirement.

Each release adds a traceable batch, not an invented archive. Existing profile edits, archive states and private work are preserved when the local database receives new organization IDs. Policy and research records are versioned with the application.

How to interpret review states

Source-linked; review pending: a candidate record. Primary-source text reviewed; editorial approval pending: source material or an official search excerpt supported the summary, but no independent service-intake or registry audit was performed. Editor reviewed: a staff member approved the record. Organization confirmed: affirmative organization confirmation, not a working website.

Registry status is separate. Inclusion does not certify 501(c)(3) status, leadership identity, service availability, endorsement or a partnership. The collection includes community institutions and coalitions as well as nonprofit organizations. Collection geography is not a service-area guarantee.

Different dates answer different questions.

Data period describes the observation. Publication date describes the source release. Review date describes this build’s source check. Sources with changing eligibility rules must be rechecked at the point of use. Historical figures are not presented as current eligibility limits.

Research guides are not imported microdata.

The research library contains source guides and selected attributed findings. It does not contain downloaded Census, CDC or other agency microdata, a live policy feed, or independent statistical analyses. Topic links suggest a useful research path; they do not establish causation.

Corrections and historical integrity

Corrections enter the local staff queue. New records are dated to this release, not backdated to simulate prior activity. October 8, 2022 is the user-supplied inception date; no unverified activity timeline or impact totals are presented.

Photography & film credits

Real stock photography and footage—not AI-generated images. These images illustrate topics; they do not document our programs or identify people as our clients, staff or partners. Human photography is selected for Black-centered representation using the source descriptions; the bridge photo and film are architectural exceptions.

Images are loaded from the Pexels CDN unless the operator has cached local copies. Remote media requests disclose your IP address to the media host. The bridge film plays only when you choose it; it never autoplays.
